The Introduction to My Novel Titled: “Read Me”
Some books contain stories, but some books, like this one, contain lives. My life is definitely real in this book but some of my characters are fictional. I have decided to kill myself. But I wanted to finish this novel first -as my own obituary or suicide note, if you will. With that said, it would be appropriate to discuss in the introduction the purpose of my life and especially that of my suicide, and the impact and course they are going to have. These are all questions, however, that require lengthy answers -if a definite answer can be given at all, you can find it either in the fiction or in the non-fiction part of this book.
This book contains two lives: mine and that of my protagonist, a girl who is semi-fictional… at least in her own mind. A girl who has always felt like she was trapped in a dream. She could never decide whether her life was something profoundly real in its sole occurrence… whether she should take it seriously. This novel is her story, but it is also a book about me writing a book before killing myself.
