1. text

I asked your friend… I asked… or I said… “He will never love me back, will he?” and he said no. I asked: “Never ever ever?” He said: “Never ever ever.”
I nodded. I nodded for what seemed forever. It seemed like I wasn’t even nodding in my life anymore. It felt like I was nodding everywhere, in everyone’s lives, for forever. I imagined that everyone was nodding in the entire world symultaneously, agreeing with the previous statement. Of course I didn’t know this because I was alone in the room with only one person, with whom I was having a conversation, oblivious to the rest of the world. But I thought that everyone everywhere else was nodding.

Sometimes, you understand conversations but they make no sense to you. It’s as if someone would try to convince you that the sky is green. But you know it’s not. You just know it’s not. So you understand when someone says, “he will not love you,” but it makes no sense to you.

About

by Glory Szabo

a book is a book is a book is a book is a life.

In this project, I mix fact and fiction to comment on and relay my own life by posting prose and poetry. As a writer and performing artist, I make up story-lines based on what I get exposed to, and leave the context to my readers' imagination -I think it's fascinating to realize that sometimes people's lives are parallel, sometimes they are perpendicular, and sometimes they just simply intersect at one random point. Furthermore, much of what I write here is essentially brainstorming for the novel I am currently working on. Consider them thought doodles. Consequently, your reaction and feedback can influence whether a particular piece will be included, if that was the intended purpose.
